The next meeting of the “Healthy Lifestyle” Working Group was held in connection with the implementation of the targets envisaged in the “Socio-Economic Development Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2022–2026”.
The meeting, organized at the Ministry of Health, discussed the preliminary monitoring and evaluation results of the work carried out during the first half of 2026 under the Strategy’s objective of “Healthy Lifestyle of Citizens”.
In his speech, the Head of the Working Group and Deputy Minister of Health Nadir Zeynalov highlighted the importance of the targets set in the Strategy for the healthcare sector. He emphasized the importance of ensuring the consistent implementation of the planned measures and effective coordination among relevant institutions in achieving the outcomes envisaged under the Strategy for the healthcare sector.
Deputy Executive Director of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC) Tarana Salifova emphasized the importance of the work to be carried out to achieve the established targets, accelerate the implementation of ongoing measures, and address existing challenges, taking into account that the implementation period of the Strategy will end in 2026.
Deputy Chair of the Working Group and Senior Advisor at CAERC Sevinc Jabbarova presented the preliminary monitoring and evaluation results for the first half of 2026 under the Strategy’s objective of “Healthy Lifestyle of Citizens”. The presentation highlighted the results achieved in the relevant areas of activity, the implementation status of the established targets, ongoing measures, as well as the key challenges and recommendations identified during the monitoring process.
The meeting featured an exchange of views on the work carried out and tasks ahead in such priority areas as promoting healthy lifestyles among the population, strengthening primary healthcare services, developing the family doctor system, improving maternal and child health, disease prevention and early detection, ensuring healthcare workforce capacity, improving the quality and accessibility of healthcare services, developing digital healthcare, and other relevant areas.
Members of the Working Group delivered speeches on the monitoring and evaluation results and put forward their proposals on the relevant areas.
Alongside the Ministry of Health and the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication, the “Healthy Lifestyle” Working Group is represented by senior officials from the Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Science and Education, Ministry of Youth and Sports, State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency, State Agency for Medical Insurance and Expertise under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population, and the State Agency for Compulsory Health Insurance (TABIB).
